A Deep Dive into Secondary Glaucomas

Although primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) is the most common form of glaucoma, secondary and even tertiary glaucomas will present to your office, often with a more volatile and progressive nature. This lecture aims to cover the etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of the most common secondary glaucomas including; pseudoexfoliation, pigment dispersion, uveitic, neovascular, and steroid-response glaucoma. Glaucoma masquerades which cause high intraocular pressure (IOP) can be difficult to differentiate from true glaucoma.

Mitch Ibach, OD

Dr. Ibach is a member of several optometric associations and is often invited to speak at national optometry meetings and state and regional associations, focusing his talks on glaucoma, corneal diseases, refractive surgery, and cataract surgery. Dr. Ibach is an adjunct clinical faculty with the Illinois College of Optometry.  Dr. Ibach has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals as well as writing editorials about his experience in anterior segment surgical care.
