Kentucky Pain Management / Addiction Disorder Courses

SECO International, LLC, in cooperation with the Kentucky Optometric Board of Examiners has developed a program by which Kentucky OD's can satisfy their yearly Pain Management / Addiction Disorder requirements online. We offer two approved courses: 

Pain Management in the Optometric Practice

Description: Review the various medications used in the optometric practice for the management of pain, including topical agents and oral narcotics. Get the highlights of take home points with case presentations. 

Narcotic Prescribing and Drug Diversion

Description: This course will review the various aspects of prescription writing of controlled substances. An overview of commonly prescribed narcotics will be given, along with how to acquire a DEA number, prevention of diversion, and common prescribing errors. This course meets the two of three required hours of drug diversion and best practices prescribing of controlled substances for West Virginia licensees and the full two hours required for Kentucky licensees who hold a DEA license.
 

How to Participate

 
KY OD's Who Attended SECO 2017
Kentucky Optometrists who attended SECO 2017 at the All-Inclusve level are already members of SECO University and can take the two courses listed as part of thier normal membership.  Kentucky OD's that attended SECO 2017, but not at the All-Inclusive level must register and then make payment for the courses they wish to take.
 
KY OD's Who Did Not Attend SECO 2017
Kentucky Optometrists who did not attend SECO 2017 must register and then make payment for the courses they wish to take.
 
Paid SECO University Subscribers
Kentucky Optometrists who are already paid members of SECO University can take the two courses listed as part of thier membership.
