This course will describe several contemporary concepts regarding glaucoma as a neurodegenerative disease with numerous factors contributing to its pathogenesis and progression. Current diagnostic considerations will be presented through clinical case examples.As well, possible emerging therapies, including the concept of neuroprotection, will be explained through use of recent glaucoma studies.
