SECO University gives eyecare professionals the opportunity to earn LIVE CE online as the industry hits
pause on face to face meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic.

ATLANTA, GA — April 29, 2020 — SECO University, the industry’s leading online education
presented by SECO International, provides optometrists and ophthalmic professionals outstanding
educational opportunities in an online environment to meet the needs and requirements of the profession.
In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent cancellation and or postponement of CE
meetings, SECO University launched SECO LIVE CE Webinars approved by COPE for live CE.

SECO LIVE launched with nine for-credit courses (13 hours of CE) as COPE has approved live CE online
through June 30, 2020. In addition, SECO LIVE held two practice management “how-to” sessions
on Teleoptometry and setting up an Online E-store, providing relevant content and training for today’s
changing profession.

“SECO has a reputation for innovation and flexibility to meet the educational needs of the times,” said
Paul C. Ajamian, OD, Education Chairman of SECO International, LLC. “Our new Live Webinar Series
does just that, with top notch speakers delivering the latest and the best! The overall response to the
quality of education we were able to plan, and produce has been outstanding. We are prepared to expand
the program should the need continue beyond June 30, 2020.”

“When our member states reached out to SECO for solutions, SECO began to work on a plan to meet the
needs not only of the states but also the profession,” said Max Raynor, OD, President of SECO
International, LLC. “With SECO University already having the online CE platform in place, our CE
Committee and the education staff were able to turn around an impressive webinar CE program in a
matter of two weeks. This quick response gave doctors immediate options for meeting their continuing
education needs.”

All revenue generated from members participating in the new LIVE CE webinars, as well as annual
subscriptions, are split with the participating 13 member states. In addition to member states, the
Association of Optometrists (UK), British Columbia Doctors of Optometry, and the South African
Optometric Association have also partnered with SECO University.
